power

Definition

Power in the context of political science is the ability of an individual or group to influence or control the actions, beliefs, and conduct of others within a society. It encompasses the capacity to enforce decisions, shape policy, and direct the course of public affairs.

Analogy

Imagine power as the electricity flowing through a city's grid. Just as electricity enables lights to illuminate streets, powers devices, and keeps systems running smoothly, political power enables leaders and institutions to enact policies, mobilize resources, and guide societal progress.
