Definition

The Axis powers were a group of countries led by Germany, Italy, and Japan that fought against the Allies in World War II.

Analogy

Imagine if three popular kids at school decided to form their own exclusive club to challenge another bigger club. That's what Germany, Italy, and Japan did when they formed the Axis Powers to oppose the Allies during WWII.
