Chemical Fertilizers

Definition

Chemical fertilizers are compounds given to plants with the intention of promoting growth; they are usually applied to the soil. They contain essential nutrients like nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus that plants need to grow healthy and strong.

Analogy

Imagine if you were trying to grow stronger muscles but only ate junk food - it wouldn't work very well! Just like our bodies need proper nutrition (proteins, vitamins) to grow strong, plants also need certain nutrients (like those found in chemical fertilizers) to grow properly.
