Caravans

Definition

A group of people, especially traders or pilgrims, traveling together across a desert in Asia or North Africa.

Analogy

Think of caravans as the ancient version of a convoy of trucks. Just like how trucks transport goods from one place to another today, caravans were used for the same purpose in ancient times but through deserts instead of highways.
