Flashback
Definition
A flashback is when a narrative interrupts its chronological order to present events that happened in the past. It provides background information or context for understanding current events in the story.
Analogy
Think of a movie where there is a sudden shift from present-day scenes to scenes from years ago. These flashbacks help us understand why certain characters behave as they do in the present timeline.
