Definition

An abstract is a concise summary of a research paper or article that provides an overview of the main points and findings. It is usually found at the beginning of the document.

Analogy

Think of an abstract as a movie trailer. Just like a trailer gives you a quick preview of what to expect in the movie, an abstract gives you a brief glimpse into the content and key findings of a research paper.
