Definition

In psychology context, perceiving refers to how we interpret our sensory impressions to make sense of our environment. It's also one dimension in MBTI which indicates flexibility and spontaneity.

Analogy

Imagine perceiving as being an artist painting on canvas. The artist takes in all colors (sensory inputs) available and interprets them into his own unique masterpiece (perception).
