Definition

A proton is a subatomic particle found in the nucleus (center) of an atom. It has a positive electrical charge and contributes to the mass of the atom.

Analogy

Picture protons as cheerleaders at a football game. They are positively charged and always cheering for their team (the nucleus), adding energy and excitement to the game (atom).
