Claims are statements or assertions that express a position or viewpoint on a particular topic. They are the main arguments made in an essay or speech.
Think of claims as the foundation of a building. Just like a strong foundation supports and holds up the entire structure, claims provide support and structure to your argument.
Evidence: Facts, examples, statistics, or expert opinions that support a claim.
Counterclaim: A claim that opposes or disagrees with the main claim.
Warrant: The reasoning or justification that connects the evidence to the claim.
