Racialism is the belief in the existence and significance of racial categories, often leading to discrimination or prejudice. When combined with Anti-Semitism, it refers to a specific form of racialism that discriminates against Jews based on their race or ethnicity.
Think of racialism as a faulty sorting machine that categorizes people into different groups based on their physical characteristics. When anti-Semitism is added into this machine, it's like adding an extra function that specifically targets all items (people) labeled as 'Jewish', treating them unfairly or negatively.
Holocaust: The genocide during World War II where approximately six million Jews were killed by Nazi Germany.
Pogroms: Violent riots aimed at massacre or persecution of an ethnic or religious group, particularly one aimed at Jews.
Zionism: A movement for the re-establishment and protection of a Jewish nation in what is now Israel.
