League of Nations

Definition

An international organization established after World War I under the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. Its goal was to promote world peace by encouraging diplomatic negotiation and disarmament.

Analogy

Think about when teachers assign group projects - they hope everyone will work together peacefully to achieve a common goal. The League of Nations was like a global group project aiming for world peace.
