Definition

Isolationism refers to a policy of avoiding or minimizing political and economic involvement with other countries. It is characterized by a desire to focus on domestic affairs and avoid international conflicts.

Analogy

Imagine you have a big project due, but you decide to isolate yourself from distractions like social media and parties so that you can fully concentrate on your work. Similarly, isolationism in politics means focusing on internal matters and staying away from foreign entanglements.
