Self-determination

Definition

Self-determination refers to the right of a group of people to determine their own political status, form their own government, and make decisions about their own economic, social, and cultural development.

Analogy

Imagine you and your friends are planning a party. Self-determination is like having the freedom to decide everything about the party - from the theme, decorations, food, and activities. No one else can tell you what to do because it's your party!
