Polarization

Definition

Polarization refers to the division or separation of people into opposing groups based on their beliefs, values, or ideologies. It often leads to increased hostility and decreased cooperation between these groups.

Analogy

Think about two magnets with opposite poles. They naturally repel each other and cannot come together easily. Similarly, when people hold extreme views that are completely opposite from each other, it becomes difficult for them to find common ground or work together.
