A parliament is a legislative body that represents the citizens of a country and makes laws. It is usually composed of elected representatives from different political parties.
Think of a parliament as a group project in school. Each student represents a different political party, and together they discuss and make decisions on important issues for the class.
Legislative Branch: The branch of government responsible for making laws.
Bicameral: A parliamentary system with two separate chambers or houses.
Speaker of the House: The presiding officer in a parliamentary assembly who maintains order and facilitates debates.
