Divine Right

Definition

The belief that a ruler's authority comes directly from a higher power, such as God, and cannot be questioned by the people.

Analogy

Imagine a video game where the main character has special powers given to them by a divine being. These powers make them invincible and give them complete control over the game world. In the same way, rulers who believe in divine right feel like they have been granted special powers and authority from a higher power.
