Democratic Governance

Definition

Democratic governance refers to a system of government where power is vested in the people, who exercise it directly or through elected representatives, and decisions are made based on majority rule while respecting minority rights.

Analogy

Imagine democratic governance as a school council election. Students vote for representatives who will make decisions on behalf of everyone. The majority vote determines which candidate wins, but it's important that minority voices are also heard and respected.
