The Arab Spring was a series of anti-government protests, uprisings, and armed rebellions that spread across much of the Arab world in the early 2010s. It began with dissatisfaction over political corruption, economic decline, unemployment, and a demand for more freedoms and rights.
Imagine a row of dominoes set up closely together; when one domino falls, it causes the next to fall, and so on. The Arab Spring started with a single act of protest in Tunisia that acted like the first falling domino, setting off a chain reaction of uprisings across several Arab countries.
Civil Rights Movements: Movements aimed at achieving equality and securing protected personal liberties for marginalized or oppressed groups within society.
Authoritarianism: A form of government characterized by strong central power and limited political freedoms.
Social Media: Digital platforms that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks
