Urbanization

Definition

Urbanization refers to the process where an increasing percentage of a country's population comes to live in towns and cities rather than rural areas.

Analogy

Imagine ants moving from scattered locations around your yard into one large anthill. That's urbanization - people moving from spread-out rural areas into densely populated cities.
