A Senate Special Committee is an American Congressional committee appointed to perform a special function that is beyond the authority or capacity of a standing committee.
Imagine your school has decided to organize an annual day event. But instead of leaving it to existing committees like student council or sports club which have their own regular tasks, they form a new group specifically for this task - That's what Senate Special Committees are like!
Standing Committee: These are permanent legislative panels established by the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate rules.
Select Committee: These are temporary legislative committees set up to highlight or investigate specific issues or address issues not within the jurisdiction of existing committees.
Subcommittee: These are subdivisions of a United States congressional committee that consider specified matters and report back to the full committee.
