The Roma people, also known as Romani or Gypsies, are an ethnic group originating from the Indian subcontinent who migrated to Europe around the 14th century. They have a rich culture and history but have often faced discrimination and persecution.
Think of the Roma people like a traveling band. Just as a band moves from city to city sharing their music, the Roma people moved from region to region, sharing their unique culture and traditions.
Ethnic Group: A community or population made up of people who share a common cultural background or descent.
Migration: The movement of people from one place to another with intentions of settling permanently or temporarily at a new location.
Persecution: Unfair treatment or punishment of a person or group based on their beliefs, race, religion, etc.
