Refrigerated Railroad Car

Definition

A refrigerated railroad car, also known as a "reefer," is a cooled boxcar that allows perishable goods like meat and dairy to be transported long distances without spoiling.

Analogy

Imagine you've just baked a batch of cookies and want to share them with your friend who lives across town. If you walk or bike there, the cookies might get stale or melt before you arrive. But if you could put them in a portable fridge that keeps them fresh during the journey - that's what a refrigerated railroad car does!
