Pueblo Revolt

Definition

The Pueblo Revolt was an uprising in 1680 by the Pueblo Indians against Spanish colonizers in the province of Santa Fe de Nuevo México, present-day New Mexico.

Analogy

Think of the Pueblo Revolt as a school walkout. Just like students who feel oppressed or unheard might stage a walkout to protest their conditions and demand change, the Pueblo Indians rose up against their Spanish oppressors to regain their freedom and cultural practices.
