President Jimmy Carter

Definition

The 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He is known for his emphasis on human rights in foreign policy and his role in negotiating the Camp David Accords.

Analogy

Think of President Carter as a school principal who puts a lot of emphasis on treating everyone fairly (human rights). He also plays the role of a mediator, like when two students are fighting over something and he steps in to help them find common ground (Camp David Accords).
