Definition

The president is the head of state and head of government of the United States, indirectly elected to a four-year term by the people through the Electoral College.

Analogy

Think of the president as the captain of a sports team. They're responsible for leading their team (the country) towards victory (national goals), making strategic decisions, and representing their team in front of others.
