"No Taxation Without Representation"

Definition

A slogan originating during the 1750s and 1760s that summarized a primary grievance of American colonists in Thirteen Colonies. It was one of major causes of American Revolution.

Analogy

Imagine if your parents made you do all household chores but didn't give you any say in how they were done or when. You'd probably feel it's unfair because you're contributing without having any input. That's how colonists felt about being taxed by Britain without having representation in British Parliament.
