Definition

The "New World" is one of the names used for majority of Earth's Western Hemisphere, specifically the Americas (including nearby islands), in relation to Europe.

Analogy

Imagine you've just downloaded a new game on your console. You're excited because everything is fresh and unknown - that's what 'New World' was like for Europeans.
