New Hampshire

Definition

New Hampshire is one of the 13 original colonies in North America, founded by John Mason in 1623. It was named after the county of Hampshire in southern England.

Analogy

Think of New Hampshire as a new student at school who quickly becomes popular because they have something everyone wants - in this case, good land for farming and fishing. Just like that new student, New Hampshire attracted settlers from other areas due to its resources.
