National Forest Service

Definition

The National Forest Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture that administers the nation's 154 national forests and 20 national grasslands. It was established in 1905 to provide quality water and timber for the nation's benefit.

Analogy

Consider National Forest Service as a team of gardeners who take care not only one or two gardens but millions acres worth! They ensure these "gardens" are healthy so they can continue providing us with valuable resources like clean water and timber.
