Iran Nuclear Deal

Definition

The Iran Nuclear Deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was an agreement reached in 2015 between Iran and six world powers (the US, UK, France, Germany, Russia, and China). Under this deal, Iran agreed to limit its nuclear program and allow international inspections in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.

Analogy

Think of the Iran Nuclear Deal like a strict school principal making a deal with a troublesome student. The student promises to behave better (Iran limiting its nuclear program) and allows the principal to check his behavior regularly (international inspections). In return, the principal lifts some restrictions on him like detention hours or extra homework (economic sanctions).
