Imagine if you had to build a house on top of a roller coaster track - that's kind of what it was like for Incas building their civilization along the rugged Andes mountains. Despite these challenges (or maybe because of them), they created one of history's most remarkable societies.
Machu Picchu: An Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains; it’s renowned for its dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without any mortar.
Quechua: The language spoken by the Inca people.
Inti Raymi: The Incan festival of the sun, where they honored their sun god.
