Flapper

Definition

A flapper was a new type of young woman in the 1920s who flaunted her unconventional conduct and dress. She was seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking alcohol, treating sex casually, smoking cigarettes, driving cars and otherwise flouting societal norms traditionally associated with proper ladies.

Analogy

Consider flappers as trendsetters or influencers today. They pushed boundaries and set new trends much like how modern influencers challenge traditional norms through social media platforms.
