Definition

The Filipino-American War (1899-1902) was an armed conflict between the First Philippine Republic and the United States following America's acquisition of Spain's Pacific possessions after winning Spanish-American War.

Imagine you bought a used car from someone (Spain), but then found out there was someone else (Filipinos) who had been promised ownership over it first. They're not happy about this sudden change, leading to a heated argument or even physical fight - that’s what happened during Filipino-American war.
