The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is an organization governing the United States Democratic Party, responsible for coordinating strategy, fundraising, promoting party platform issues, and organizing national conventions.
Imagine if your school had one big student council that planned all events, fundraisers and assemblies - that would be like what DNC does for Democrats across America.
Republican National Committee (RNC): This is essentially DNC’s counterpart for Republicans; it oversees strategies, fundraising efforts and organizes national conventions for Republican Party candidates.
Superdelegate: An unelected delegate who is free to support any candidate for presidential nomination at their party's convention. They are often key players within DNC or RNC structures.
Primary Election: A preliminary election where voters decide their party's candidate for a public office. Both DNC and RNC organize these to determine who will represent them in the general elections.
