The Constitutional Convention took place in 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a meeting where delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies wrote the United States Constitution.
Think of the Constitutional Convention as a group project where each team member (state) brings their ideas to create one final product (the Constitution).
United States Constitution: This is the supreme law of the United States that outlines the nation's system of government and guarantees certain individual rights.
Federalism: This is a system of government where power is divided between a central authority (federal government) and constituent political units (states).
James Madison: He was an American statesman, diplomat, expansionist, philosopher and Founding Father who served as fourth President of United States. He is hailed as "Father of the Constitution" for his pivotal role in drafting and promoting U.S. Constitution at Constitutional Convention.
