The Connecticut Valley is a region in New England where the Connecticut River flows through four states - Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
Imagine if your school hallway was filled with water flowing from one end to another - that would be like the Connecticut River. And all classrooms along this hallway would represent different towns or cities within the Connecticut Valley region.
Connecticut River: A major river in northeastern United States that flows southward through four states before emptying into Long Island Sound.
New England Colonies: One of three groups of British colonies in North America (the others being Middle Colonies and Southern Colonies). These included Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
Long Island Sound: An estuary bordered by Connecticut to its north, New York to its west, and Long Island to its south. The Connecticut River flows into it.
