This region refers to areas around Earth's North Pole (Arctic) or just below it (Subarctic), characterized by extremely cold temperatures, ice-covered seas and treeless landscapes.
Think of the Arctic and Subarctic Region as your freezer. It's always cold, there's a lot of ice, and you won't find any plants growing in there!
Inuit: A group of culturally similar indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions.
Tundra: The type of biome where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons.
Permafrost: Ground that remains completely frozen for at least two years straight, common in arctic regions.
