Definition

World War Two, also known as the Second World War, was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved many countries around the world and was fought between two major alliances, the Allies and the Axis powers.

Analogy

Imagine playing a massive multiplayer video game where players from different parts of the world form teams and battle against each other. In this game, you have to strategize, coordinate with your teammates, and make quick decisions just like in World War Two.

Blitzkrieg: A military tactic used by Germany during World War Two which involved rapid and coordinated movements of tanks, airplanes, and infantry to quickly overwhelm enemy forces.

D-Day: The codename for the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944. It marked a turning point in World War Two as it allowed the Allies to establish a foothold in Western Europe.

Kamikaze: A Japanese military tactic where pilots would deliberately crash their aircraft into enemy targets, usually ships. This tactic was used towards the end of the war as a desperate measure by Japan.
