The Soviet Bloc refers to the group of socialist states under the influence or direct control of the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
Think of the Soviet Bloc as a sports team, where each player (country) has their own role but they all follow the strategy and direction set by their coach (the Soviet Union).
Iron Curtain: This term was used to describe the division between Western democracies and Eastern communist countries during the Cold War.
Warsaw Pact: A military alliance formed in 1955 by Eastern European communist states under control of USSR as a counterweight to NATO.
Satellite State: These were politically and economically dependent countries that were part of the Soviet sphere of influence.
