Definition

Southeast Asia is a geographical region that includes countries located between China and India as well as those on the islands situated in the Pacific Ocean. It includes countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore etc.

Analogy

Think of Southeast Asia as a vibrant patchwork quilt. Each patch (or country) has its own unique pattern (culture), but when stitched together they form one beautiful piece (region).

Indochina: A historical name for a geographic region in southeast Asia which included Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Archipelago: A group or chain of islands clustered together in a sea or ocean. The Philippines and Indonesia in Southeast Asia are examples of archipelagos.
