Radio is a technology that allows for the transmission of sound through airwaves. It has been used for entertainment, news broadcasting and emergency communication since its invention in late 19th century.
Imagine radio as your school's PA system. Just like how everyone in school can hear announcements over this system no matter where they are located within campus grounds; similarly anyone with a radio receiver can tune into broadcasts from stations near and far.
Broadcasting: The distribution of audio and/or video signals which transmit programs to an audience.
