Port of Lisbon

Definition

The Port of Lisbon is a seaport in Portugal's capital city. During the Age of Discovery (15th-17th centuries), it was a major hub for Portuguese explorers setting sail to discover new lands.

Analogy

Think of the Port of Lisbon as an airport today. Just like how we catch flights to different parts of the world from an airport, explorers during the Age of Discovery would set sail from this port to explore unknown parts of the world.
