Masterless Samurai (Ronin)
Definition
A Ronin is a samurai warrior in feudal Japan who has lost his master through death or disgrace and is wandering without any clear role or function.

Think of a Ronin as an independent contractor in today's job market. They have all the skills and training, but they're not tied to any specific company or boss.
