March on Rome

Definition

A march by which Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's National Fascist Party came to power in Italy in October 1922. The march was a coup d'état intended to seize political power.

Analogy

Think of the March on Rome as a hostile takeover in a company. Just like how a group might force out the current leadership and take control, Mussolini and his party forced their way into power through this march.
