Definition
This refers to the process of creating visual representations of the earth's surface. It involves identifying and plotting geographical features, boundaries, and locations.
Analogy
Think of mapping the world like designing a video game map. Just as game developers create maps to guide players through different levels or worlds, cartographers (map-makers) plot out continents, countries, cities, and natural features to help us navigate our real-world environment.
