Guerrilla warfare is a form of irregular warfare in which small groups of combatants use military tactics including ambushes, sabotage, raids, and hit-and-run attacks to fight a larger and less-mobile traditional military.
Guerrilla warfare is like playing hide-and-seek in a forest. The person hiding (guerrilla fighter) doesn't confront the seeker directly but uses the environment for cover and surprise attacks.
Viet Cong: A communist-led army and guerrilla force in South Vietnam that fought its government and was supported by North Vietnam.
Mao Zedong: Chinese Communist leader who advocated for guerrilla warfare as part of his revolutionary strategy.
Insurgency: An active revolt or uprising, often characterized by guerrilla warfare tactics.
