Ferdinand Magellan (Philippines)

Definition

Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer who organized Spanish expedition to East Indies from 1519-1522. He reached Philippines where he died but his crew continued journey back home thus completing first circumnavigation around Earth.

Analogy

Imagine you're on a road trip with your friends. You plan everything out but halfway through you get sick and can't continue. Your friends carry on without you following your plans till end. That's what happened with Magellan; he planned & started journey but couldn't finish it himself yet his crew did following his route.
