This is a method of manufacturing that arose during the Industrial Revolution. Instead of individual craftsmen making goods at home, workers were brought together under one roof in a factory to work on machinery.
Think of it like switching from cooking meals individually at home to a fast-food restaurant setup. In the factory system, just as in a fast-food chain, there's division of labor, use of machinery for efficiency, and production happens under one roof.
Division of Labor: The assignment of different parts of a manufacturing process or task to different people in order to improve efficiency.
Industrialization: The process by which an economy is transformed from primarily agricultural to one based on the manufacturing of goods.
Mass Production: The manufacture of large quantities of standardized products often using assembly lines or automated technology.
