Imagine you're at a party where everyone is enjoying themselves. Suddenly, a group of uninvited guests arrive. They start taking over the music system, eating all the food without asking, and forcing some guests to serve them. That's similar to how indigenous peoples were exploited - their lands were taken over, resources used up and they were forced into servitude.
Colonialism: The policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.
Imperialism: A policy or ideology by a nation to extend its power and influence over other countries either by force or establishing economic and political dominance.
Forced Labor: A form of exploitation in which individuals are coerced into work through the use of violence or intimidation.
