Definition

This refers to portraying one's enemies as purely evil or monstrous in order to justify conflict against them. It's another common tactic used in wartime propaganda.

Analogy

Imagine if your favorite superhero movie only showed scenes where the villain was doing terrible things without any backstory or redeeming qualities - that would be demonizing them!

Dehumanization: This is when people are denied their human qualities or personality. In warfare situations, dehumanization can make it easier for soldiers and civilians alike to accept violence against perceived enemies.
